Bus school brawl? We all saw the video on the news. Then, if you watched the charged teenager on Fox News Channel talking with Greta on "On The Record", the young lady (if you can call her that) complained how unfair the discipline was. She faces 6 months in jail, but is it fair?

Well, lets just look at how our children behave today. School shootings, horrible lip service towards our elders and adults, sexual conduct in the classroom and more. Is it time to get tougher on our children? How responsible is the school district and other responsible adults who are in charge of our children during the day?

Anyone who saw the video and has a grain of common sense in their head would agree that jail time is what this teenager needs. Children today want to have the same rights as adults and act like adults, yet they whine like your average 3 year old when the punishment comes through.

Where are the parents? Two other stories of teenagers behaving badly were brought to my attention today. Two teenagers killed their own children: one on a plane and one in Houston, TX. Why? Are the parents talking to them and spending time with them or just leaving it up to the almighty and all-knowing school sex education system to teach them what to do. (please note the sarcasm there)

Are parents relying too heavily on the school system to bring their children up? It sure seems like it. Fewer and fewer kids are standing up for what they truly believe in. But, more and more children need their parents more than ever with all the pressures and new dangers in the world and at school. However, it looks like parents are not as present as they use to be and should be as many are working two jobs. Why? To afford the material things that will help them to keep up with the Jones's or to survive? If it's the later than it's a necessity. But, if both parents are working and it is not necessary and you notice anything troubling with your child, perhaps its time to rethink your priorities and begin staying at home as a constant source of information and comfort for your child.
