10 Ways to Celebrate Spring
It's official. Spring is here! So what are you doing to celebrate it? Here are a few ideas:
1. Start an "outdoor" poetry club.
Are you a budding poet? Do you have a back yard? Set up a springtime poetry session. You can do it once a week or once a month. It can be as informal or formal as you like. The good news is that It'll give artists (like yourself) a chance to strut your
stuff and enjoy the warm weather while you're doing it.
2. Join a walking club.
Want to get into shape? Join a walking club. You can find one by calling your local gym or even checking out what's available online. Since the weather is warming up, you'll be more motivated and be able to stretch, move and exercise with ease.
3. Set up an "R&R" space outside?
Are you stressed out? Set up an "R&R" space. This space is officially for your rest and relaxation. It can be as a simple as a chair with a pillow sitting right outside of your back door. Either way set it up in an area that will allow you to unwind and enjoy the warm weather.
4. Go on a nature hunt with your child.
Use spring as a teaching time with your child. Go on a nature hunt around your neighborhood. All you need is a few plastic baggies. Pick up leaves, flowers, sticks and even bugs. Then, take your findings home and identify them. It's a great way to get your child to appreciate the outdoors and learn about nature.
5. Paint.
Are you stifling your creative side? Open it up by painting. No. You don't have to spend a lot of money on an easel and oil paint set. Instead, opt for watercolors and construction paper. Ease into your creativity while sitting in a park. It'll offer up a lot of inspiration for your work.
6. Take a long drive.
Has the cold weather kept you pent up inside? Get out now that the weather is warming up. Take a drive into an unknown city and explore it. It's cheaper than going out of state or overseas. Yet, you still get to see a few new sites.
7. Eat a new piece of fruit.
The spring weather offers up a lot of great fruit. Therefore, taste a new fruit you've never had before. Open for suggestion? Mangos are delicious and exotic. Eat a ripe one and your taste buds will explode.
8. Make a tea date.
