I see you
and all that you do.
I see how much of yourself
goes into being
the glue
that holds us together,
a family.

I know you inside out,
I even know the you
that you are when
you think no one is watching,
I see you dress for work
or at the kitchen sink,
or in the flower garden.
I see you weild a hammer,
making household repairs.
I watch you pay the bills
or help a sick friend.

My mother, my hero,
a hero with no cape,
unsung, perhaps,
but never unnoticed by me.

I admire that you
are so versatile . . .
that you taught me,
as you achieved your dreams,
to pursue the inner journey
that would lead me
to dreams of my own.

For all that you are
and have always been,
I love you.
I fill with gratitude
each time a thought of you
comes to mind, mom.

What a beautiful tribute to your mom, and all the other "unsung heroes" who deserve to know, even if never told, that their love has not gone unnoticed. You write with eloquence! I added you to my favorites. I look forward to more.
