My teen years were spent in the 80's and what a time that was. Whether we were wearing leg warmers with pink and purple hair or going for the more punk look of black and chains, it was certainly always to excess. Since that was the time of MTV and massive amounts of make-up there weren't too many rules we'd follow when it came to making ourselves up whether it was for school or a weekend party. The more the better it seemed. However, there are side-effects to what we did and what you do now. I hope that some of these teen beauty tips help you.

Hair - In the 1980's it was big and usually feathered with approximately a half can of hair spray. Today's styles seem to span from one end to the other be it short or long. The ability to roll out of bed and go is always appealing and with today's cuts, it's easier to get away with. It is no longer necessary to spend one to two hours in front of the mirror blow-drying your hair. For teenagers today they should be looking for a cut that doesn't require too much effort. Short cuts always work well even if you just have to tousle it and get to school. The most important tip I could possible give now though, speaking from personal experience, do not start dying your hair. Once you start, it never ends. By the time I was in junior high, my hair was a combination of blond, red and brown (the blond from spending so much time at the beach and in pools) that I felt I had to do something with the color. That began in the 9th grade and has not stopped since. Aside from the cost, it would be nice to know now what my natural hair color is. I don't think I'll ever know that again. Sad but true. While I did have some fun, going from dirty blond to jet black to bleached blond to plum, my hair has paid the price. Please girls, take my advice and don't start this ritual until it's necessary to cover your grays. Believe me, they will probably come sooner than you care for them to and then you can dye all you want. You're young and you should pull your hair into a ponytail and go have fun. All that primping as a teen is not worth it. You have a lot of years ahead to do these tedious tasks.
