The Top Dog Names Ever

As I've made clear many times before (with an abundance of terrific articles) I love animals, especially dogs. I am a huge advocate of animal rescue programs and I feel that it's imperative that we, as humans, do everything in our power to put an end to animal abuse and mistreatment. Dogs
and cats have souls. I don't know much, but I do know this. So, if you're thinking about getting a pet, go the adoption route. Don't buy from a breeder or a store. There are too many cats and dogs that are desperate for good homes.

Okay, now that I got that PSA out of the way, we can get to the fun stuff. I'm going to help you name your new pet; in this case, your new dog. Let's have some fun with this…

NON-TRADITIONAL NAMES

-Brutus: Aside from the obvious nod to Caesar's assassin, there are plenty of good things about this name. First of all, it just sounds tough. And there's nothing better than giving a cute little dog a big tough name. For instance, how great are little 25-pound dogs with names like Brutus. They crack me up every time.

-Eliza: I love this name for a female puppy. I realize it's not that exotic, but it's also not that common; especially for a dog's name. There's just something so pretty about it. In fact, if you don't name your dog Eliza, then I'm going to give it to my daughter. So you better call dibs. Go out and adopt a dog.

-RoboDog: I mostly like this name because my favorite movie of all-time is RoboCop. Now I can't guarantee if you name your puppy RoboDog that he'll be indestructible, but I can assure you that owning him we'll be a rewarding experience. Check out petfinder.com if you're thinking about getting a dog.

PEOPLE NAMES FOR DOGS

-Mike: My friends and I are in consensus about this one: the best dog names are people names. For instance, other than Mike, other good male dog/people names are Steve, Bob, Rick, Ed, Tom, Jimmy and Ken.

-Sharon: You can do the same thing with female dog/people names. Others to think about are Laura, Mildred, Beth, Ellen, Patsy, Karen and Debbie.

TRADITIONAL DOG NAMES THAT ACTUALLY AREN'T THAT TRADITIONAL

After reading your article on cat names, I decided to research dog names and I found you have written an article on dog names. It is a fun read. I have owned many dogs - Princess, JackJack, Pongo, Keisha, Maverick, Chief, Rambo, Whitefoot, just to name a few.
