The debate wages on; illegal immigrants taking American jobs, illegal immigrants taking jobs for less than what other people would. This is a problem in America, or so many would like to shout out loud. Illegal workers, working for low wages this is a new problem in America, if history is correct than this is an event that has been occurring for as long as America has existed.

First I would like to address the issue of immigrants coming into this country, a great country filled with opportunity and a place where anyone can become anything. In 1498 the first ever immigrants arrived here in the America, well the first to actually settle here. Years later, they took it upon themselves to create settlements here in the hope that they could escape the oppressions of their mother country. This is how the first colonists that built this country arrived, by boat, with an enormous amount of other people. The difference between them and the immigrants of today are skin color and accent. The dream is still the same, the drive and the desire are equally matched, and not surprisingly there is still water involved, well usually.

So why have Americans of today forgotten that they themselves are not indigenous, that they themselves did not come from America, not really, not if you trace their family bloodline. So why is it that when people try to come into our country they are meet with anti-patriotic men with guns, who have no idea what patriotism is. Immigration even during the first draft was essential in securing victory in the war, immigration was essential in creating the powerful booming economy we have today. Yet Americans have turned their back on immigrants from Mexico and what's worse is that they hide this fact with fake patriotism, citing that maybe terrorists will come up from the border. This is a sad and poor excuse, as Canada's Border remain very unsecured, the same Canadian border where there are no patriotic men with guns, which are not border patrol.
