I can't believe we're already a quarter of the way through the NFL season. It seems like I just watched the Dolphins and the Steelers in the Thursday night kick off game. (On a side note, how embarrassing was my Dolphins Super Bowl pick? I'm glad nobody read that article.) It's going too fast, just like it does every year. Every fall it feels like I have this baby and it grows up before my eye. Now it's in junior high and I still haven't quite figured it out yet, but I still love it and I'm still holding out hope that it will turn out good. Does anyone else feel this way? No, okay, here are some thoughts…

My Apologies to Mr. Grossman and the City of Chicago

I was dead wrong about the Bears. In fact, I had money on the Seahawks to win that game outright. A seriously dumb bet in hindsight, but I made up for it with a very good early afternoon, as well as a crucial Patriots (the money line) and Over (47) parlay. All in all, it was my best gambling weekend yet. (As it should be though-if you keep getting worse as the season progresses than I don't think NFL gambling is the sport for you.) But anyway, back to Da Bears. I don't want to say too much here because I plan on writing a full article about them later in the week. People of Chicago, look out for that one.

Fantasy Football Update

I couldn't be happier with my fantasy football status so far. I'm all alone in first place at 4-0 (in the big money league), and I'm 2-2 (in my friends' league after an 0-2 start). Two last minute starts that paid off huge for me… none other than my version of the M&M boys: Marques Colston (TE/WR) and Maurice Jones-Drew (RB). One more thing on Fantasy Football and Colston… There is a major flaw within the Yahoo! Sports system that allows you to start this guy at tight end, even though he's always lined up at wide receiver. This is a big difference because, so far, he's been getting WR stats for me (and that's huge). Pick this New Orleans rookie up if he's still available, especially in Yahoo! Leagues. Plus, he went to Hofstra, the former home of Wayne Chrebet. So that's cool.
