World's Most Expensive Cell Phone Sold for 1.2 Million
The Phone That's Iced Up More Than Most of Today's Rappers

I recently bought a new cell phone for about $100, which was near the limit I was willing to spend for such a piece of technology. However, it included a great MP3 player and a slot where I could insert memory cards to hold more pictures, videos and music. Seeing as how this would double for a phone and an Ipod (since I’ve yet to buy one), I thought I’d be saving a lot of money.
How much are you willing to spend on a cell phone, even if it is equipped with the latest technology available? Would you spend $100, like me? Or how about $200? Well, why not 1.2 million?
That’s right. Earlier this September, ‘Le Million’ Piece Unique, the world’s most expensive cell phone, was purchased for 1 million euros, which is equivalent to about 1.2 million dollars. The phone was on display at the Millionaire’s Fair in
Cannes,
and was bought by a Russian businessman for his wife. The Guinness Book of World Records was there to officially declare the sale of the world’s most expensive phone.
The phone, which was made by GoldVish SA, includes the best in cell phone technology: wireless Bluetooth compatibility, mp3, and camera. It costs so much money because the casing is made out of 18-carat white gold, and is covered with 120-carats of VVS-1 graded diamonds. The idea to create such an extravagant phone comes from combining the luxuriousness of Swiss watch-making with a device that is used by many worldwide.
The company plans to only make these bling ringers on special request. Currently, only three have been made, and two out of the three have been sold: one to the Russian businessman, and another to a business man in
Hong Kong
