Where will you find me on Thursday night? Let me tell you...in front of the tv watching Survivor! I love this show and let me tell you why.

I started watching this show in its second season only because the guy I was dating at the time wanted to watch it. From Episode one I was hooked. The characters, the drama, the action, the cute Texan named Colby...what more could you want in a show?? It became very important to me every week to see who would be voted out, I was very emotionally involved with the entire process. I would shout at the tv, have long, deep conversations about the merit of keeping so-and-so on while voting out such-and-such, with just about anyone who would participate. Then the season ended. What would I do with my self?

I have since watched every episode since then, never missing one unless absolutely necessary. However, having DVR certainly helps. I love the characters chosen to be on the show, I love the environments in which they are forced to live, I love the interaction, the drama, the challenges...I even love Jeff Probst. Watching Survivor is like watching an experiment in social behavior, and I find it fascinating.

I enjoy seeing which person will become the "rat" and who will be dubbed the "saint." I'm not one of those viewers who get upset and on their box lamenting about how one person can lie and cheat and scratch their way into a million dollars. I understand the motto of the show, which is to "Outlast, Outwit, Outplay", and feel that if I were ever to be a part of the show I would act much the same way.

The physical aspect of the show also enthralls me. I enjoy seeing the new challenges the producers come up with every episode. I love how they keep it fresh with new puzzles and mazes and such, and still keep the concept the same.

I also love, how even with as many seasons of Survivor that there has been, the show never becomes stagnant. They introduce just enough change into each new season to keep it interesting but not run the risk of "jumping the shark."
