9/11 Up Close and Personal!
How Dare They Take Our Twins

As a 20 year New York City native resident and now living in New Jersey, I have very intimate memories of September 11th. As I'm sure everyone has their own vivid recalls of anger, despair, awe and disbelief, I had an experience that was rather up close and personal to this tragedy. Let me first say that although I speak metaphorically about the skyline and it's smile now vanished, the lack of that smile is truly indicative of every single life lost that day.Driving on the NJ Turnpike extension towards Jersey City and the Holland Tunnel gives any motorist a clear and breathtaking view of the lower manhattan skyline. As I would any other day, I drove into Hoboken to take the Path Train into the World Trade Center. However, this day I had a later appointment then usual. I don't feel accurate or truthful by saying that I was lucky because in my opinion, no one was that day. We all lost on 9/11. I may have been fortunate, but I don't consider myself lucky. As a humanitarian and having such a sincere love for every other human being, I cannot feel lucky.
