With divorce rates at an all time high, how can you make sure that your marriage will last forever? Here are some tips for an everlasting marriage. In order for these tips to work, both people have to be willing to follow them.Put God First.
If you have God in your marriage, your marriage can endure anything. Marriage should not just be a marriage between two people, but should be a commitment that is made with God. Put God first in your life and He will bless your marriage more than you will ever know.
Pray With Your Spouse
Praying with your spouse brings both of you closer to God and to each other. It lets you in on your spouses inner self and what they are asking for in their life.
Communication and Honesty.
Do not hide or lie to your spouse. It only causes more problems. Communicate to your spouse, let them know what is going on inside of you. Don't hide your wants, desires or even problems as they can escalate and only cause more problems. Being honest means that you put everything out their for your spouse, even the bad. In your vows, you promised to love in good and in bad.
Spend Time Together.
Life is too short to spend so much time away from your spouse. The more time that you spend with your spouse the more you get to know the real person. Have fun when you spend time together. Life isn't all work, have some fun too.
Don't try to Change Your Spouse
Many times after a couple gets married they try to change something about the other person. Do not do that as you married that person that way and why would you want to change them if you truly love them? Accept your differences and love that person for them.
Find Interests That You Both Enjoy
Finding something that you can do together or talk about will bring you closer to your spouse. If will develop your friendship even more, as having your spouse as your friend is necessary in a good marriage.
Think Before You Talk.
When you are having an argument with your spouse, think before you say something you might regret. After the argument is over, it may be hard for your spouse to forget what you said to them.
