Farting! Acceptable, Rude or Crude in the Workplace

Honestly, this should not even be questionable. Most people, who are reasonably normal would state the obvious - farting is crude in the workplace. Let's look at the options.

Some people actually believe that if you fart, its like a burp and you should say excuse me because you would be considered rude if you didn't. For the record people, burps and farts although gas products that are omitted from your body are not the same and should not be treated the same. One gas is on the surface and coming out of your mouth, and although still rude to burp out loud, society has come to accept an excuse me and live with it. The other gas (fart), goes through your whole throat, processes through your stomach and acids, then your intestines. When that gas comes out of your body, trust me when I say this (IT STINKS!!!). Definitely not like a burp at all even when you excuse yourself.

Other people believe farting should be acceptable.

For instance, a woman at work farted a fart that sounded like a wet, clapping explosion. She was on the phone and never even flinched. Once the gaseous fumes hit her nose, she nonchalantly took out her deodorizer and sprayed.

People!!! How can this form of behavior be considered acceptable. Even she could not stand the smell of her own fart. Why should her co-workers be subjected to the smell of her stinky farts.

The meaning of farting by the Free Dictionary by Farfax is "to expel intestinal gas through the anus". Any gas that comes out of a person's anus is going to smell. This stinky odor should not be acceptable in a workplace; whether it came out of someone's anus with a loud wet clapping sound or came out like a sbd (silent but deadly). Have some sense of decency and consideration and use the bathroom.

Besides farting is sometimes a sign that something else is soon to follow. Take precaution, you may think its only a gas (fart) but may end up sharting (this is a combination of a vulgar term for bowel movement and farting). Then the odor will be that much more worse for your co-workers. Please use the bathroom for farting. It's definitely not acceptable, it is more than rude and definitely crude.
