Whippy Cake - Frosted Treats for Mom and Baby

With a name inspired by self-made millionaire author Troy Dunn's Free Samples, the duo of Britta Jarvie and Becki Crosby have taken their whipped topping dreams into a new line of products designed for babies, kids and mom. Balancing production of one-of-a-kind items with establishing a business model from scratch, both Jarvie and Crosby count on enthusiasm and creativity for success.

"Whippy Cake is all the fun and happiness from a cupcake put into fashionable but NON-edible handmade clothing and accessories for baby, child and mom," says Crosby. "We've thought of everything from head to toe including but not limited to: headbands, bows, clips, beanies, earrings, charms, onesies and t-shirts, aprons, nursing covers, baby slings, diaper cases, diaper pads, burp cloths, mini blankets, binki snugs and booties."

Jarvie and Crosby have made all of their designs available at their Web site (www.whippycake.com) and have taken staged their own trunk shows to help spread word about their products. Promoting fun, quality products at reasonable prices.

"No two items are alike," says Jarvie. "We hand make everything so each product is a one of a kind item. We care deeply about the product we provide and therefore put our highest level of quality into our workmanship."

With their current business model, the duo is hard at work but is still able to offer unique items and fulfill special requests. According to Jarvie, in terms of products and ideas, the possibilities are endless.

"We are always brainstorming new ideas and the wheels never stop turning," says Jarvie. "We will always try to cater to the needs of our clients. We encourage our customers to send us their suggestions of items that would benefit from. We love creating and trying out new designs."

Crosby specifically mentions pursuing clothing patterns for some little girl dresses and aprons. While items for men have been discussed, demand has yet to meet supply.

"We would love to offer products for men but we have found that there is not a high demand for adult onesies," says Jarvie.
