Should trick or treat be banned? I don't think so. It is an American tradition that brings so much fun and happiness to the children! I have heard all of the arguments, believe me. There are those people who believe that Halloween is a celebration of Satan. I always say, "Yeah, maybe a hundred years ago, when superstitions meant something."

What about the rumors of children being poisoned by their Halloween treats? These tales are simply urban myths, probably invented by a religious nut who believes Halloween is a celebration of Satan. The truth is that in all cases of children falling ill or dying from tainted Halloween treats, a relative was to blame.
I don't doubt that there are many dangers in this world for children on Halloween. It seems elaborate costumes are one of the biggest dangers children face at Halloween. Adults also have the worry of the strangers children will be exposed to while trick or treating. To keep your kids safe, you must accompany them, and take the necessary precautions. Always keep your children safely out of the street, have them wear decorative flashing buttons at night, make sure the Halloween costume is safe, and make certain your child can walk and see while wearing it! Of course thoroughly check their candy before any is consumed!
Trick or treating should not be banned, it is a great tradition to participate in for your children and the kid in all of us. Our real world is scary, why can't we let the kids have a little fun? If Halloween activities are banned, Christmas should also be banned in the commercial sense. Considering that Halloween is a commercial holiday for children also.

Trick or treating is relatively harmless if you use your best judgment and pay attention to the surroundings. Use your best judgment, and basic rules of safety and trick or treating is an enjoyable experience your kids will always remember! If you can't personally accompany your child on the trick or treating excursion, make arrangements with a responsible teen or adult to accompany your child. With reasonable planning and attention trick or treat is perfectly safe and acceptable.
