Gordon Surprises No One Leaving Indiana for NBA

The Fabulous Freshman is Off to the Pro's

Eric Gordon will test the waters in the NBA. If it weren't for a rule in the NBA making it impossible for high school seniors to jump into the draft out of high school, Gordon would have never seen the light of day in college.

The 3rd Team All American selection plans to make his official announcement on Monday. According to the Indianapolis Star, Gordon has already made his plans and those plans do not include playing for

new coach Tom Crean in Bloomington.

Gordon led the Big Ten in scoring in what will be his only season at Indiana with just under 21 points a contest. But he struggled late in the season after an injury to his hand and the Hoosiers never really regained any momentum heading into March after the dismissal of Kelvin Sampson for recruiting violations.
With Gordon out the door and possibly a lottery pick, what will Indiana do?

The absence of Gordon leaves Indiana with 5 scholarship players. And those who are still around have yet to weigh in on whether they will transfer or suffer through what looks to be a tumultuous first season for Crean.

Gone are Jamarcus Ellis and Armon Bassett. Both were kicked off the team in the past week by interim coach Dan Dakich for missing a second team meeting.
So where does that leave the Hoosiers? In a world of hurt.

Crean already admitted that it will be a challenging first couple of years at Assembly Hall. The recruits coming in also have an opportunity to get out of their commitment and move on to a program that will be able to win right now.
