If it is one thing a lot of dad's enjoy, it is definitely tools! This fun and whimsical hammer and nail theme greeting card is perfect for Father's Day or all year-round!

For this project, you will need:

- Black cardstock

- Basic Grey "Archaic Passe" Print Scrapbook Paper (found in stores or online at Paper Addict)

- Basic Grey "Archaic Rusty" Print Scrapbook (found in stores or online at Paper Addict)

- Basic Grey "Primal" Print Scrapbook Paper (found in stores or online at Paper Addict)

Pencil

- Scissors

- Typewriter style mounted rubber stamps

- Black or navy blue ink pad

- Shrink paper

- Ruler

- Craft knife

- Self healing mat

- Elmer's glue stick

Begin this project by folding the black cardstock into a greeting card shape. (An alternative to this step is to purchase a pre-made greeting card base, available at most craft and scrapbook stores. These bases usually include a matching envelope for convenience.)

Lay the Basic Grey "Primal" Print Scrapbook Paper flat on your work area. Using a ruler, measure a shape that is 1/4 inch smaller around than the face of your card. Cut out the rectangle using scissors. Mat the print paper to the card using an Elmer's glue stick. Dry completely.

With a pencil, trace two shapes on the Basic Grey "Archaic Passe" Print Scrapbook Paper: a nail and a hammer head. Place the paper on the self healing mat and cut out the shapes with a craft knife. Repeat the process using Basic Grey "Archaic Rusty" Print Scrapbook Paper and creating a hammer handle. Mat the hammer head to the hammer handle. Glue all tools to your card.

With typewriter style mounted rubber stamps and an ink pad, spell out "Dad" onto the shrink paper. Cut out each letter individually and shrink as directed by the paper manufacturer. Cool completely. Glue the words to the face of the card and allow it to dry. Add additional details to the card, such as your father's name, the children's names, the year, etc. Be creative!

Fill in your Father's Day sentiment inside the card, and give.

Takeaways
  • Add different tool shapes and designs for a truly custom look.
  • Shrink the paper as directed by the manufacturer.
  • Happy Father's Day!
