After leaving Kissimmee, Florida, we continued our vacation by heading to the Florida's east coast and to Daytona Beach. We arrived around 1.30 p.m. at the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn. We pulled up in the small front parking lot and was pleased to see parking to the side of the building as well.

Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by the receptionist. We gave her our voucher for the accommodation and our name. She pulled us up on the computer and we filled out the appropriate paperwork. She was very congenial and we chatted together. She told us about the happy hour and to be at the bar from 5.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. for free cocktails. She then told us that we were on the 4th floor, the 5th (top) floor being smoking, and that normally 'timeshare people' are put in rooms 25 and 27 which are next to the elevator. She must have liked us because we were close to the front in 09. As we were leaving the lobby we were given a 'goody bag'. This contained lots of samples of toiletries in a his and hers bundle.

We checked out our room before getting a cart for the luggage and were really impressed. Upon entering the room the bathroom was to the left. It had a beautiful tiled floor, granite vanity with one basin. The bathtub was big and had a pulsating shower that worked great.

The first walls were a burnt orange and the rest of the room beige. The carpet was beige too. There were 2 Queen size beds with a night stand in the middle. Passed the beds a table for the phone and a place for my laptop. We had free wireless Internet. There were 2 armchairs, a large chest of drawers with the television on top. Then coming back to the front area of the room was a cubby hole with a fridge, microwave, and above it a full size coffee maker, and a mirror behind it. Upon opening the next door was our closet for clothes, a safe, iron, ironing board, and a full size mirror on the inside of the door. There were 2 lamps as well.

We opened the sliding doors and had a nice sized balcony with chairs, that overlooked Daytona Beach and the Atlantic ocean. I love the beaches on the west coast, where I live, but no one can beat the size of the waves on the east coast.

Boy. fifteen dollars a night plus tax is a steal. Makes me want to participate in timeshares. Great review. :-)
