As usual when I start writing over something like this, the tears start flowing. It was a beautiful day. It felt like the first day of spring. Everyone was out in the neighborhood and in the area enjoying the first warm day of the season. My husband and I planned to go out for a really good dinner at Heinnie's Back Barn. I had prime rib and my husband had a sirloin steak. It was good to have the chance to go somewhere for a really good sit down dinner and relax. We don't get to spend as much alone and romantic time together as we would like.

We went down to the River Walk. Elkhart is a twin city to San Antonio Texas. The walk was beautiful and we were able to enjoy the time together and the beauty of the city. We came home and were feeling rather romantic and intimate. At a very inconvenient time we heard it. We live on nearly an acre. Our land butts up against about 14 acres where our neighbors live. They have three children very close in age to our son. Their eldest son is about 16 and their daughter was a mat maid for my son's wrestling team. We really don't know the youngest son that well but see him around the neighborhood.

Their father Gary is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He is neighborly, and would do anything for anyone. He is a very sweet southern gentleman and can really lay that southern drawl on thick. He is warm and very flattering to the ladies. His wife is the workaholic of the family. My husband asked him once if they had their Christmas lights up yet. Gary replied with a chuckle. " Don't forget who I'm married to!"

You know why you missed it? Because there wasn't a word about it in the paper or on the news? makes no sense. I don't get it. I visited him in the hospital on wednesday and he is doing better. He has a brain concussion(spelling) fractured skull, cheekbone, surgery on his hand, bleeding on the brain and internal pain from the explosion, insignificant burns on his forearms, broken nose, but he can see, hear and will probably make a complete recovery, he is definitely a miracle man!

Thank you all so much for praying and responding. Tonight I took cupcakes over to the house, because I didn't know what else to do and didn't want to intrude or invade their privacy. Their daughter and son was home and the daughter was so appreciative. The miracle is that he is not only alive! But he can see, hear and is not irrepareable damaged. He has a broken cheekbone or jawbone, and his hand was operated on. He has some bleeding on his brain that will clear up and he was not burnt. Thank God for the quick action of the neighbor who knew where the fire extinquishers were and his son and friend who pulled him out. The other amazing thing is that with all the people there, no one else was in the barn with him. Thank you all so much for your heartlfelt loving prayers and comments. It really is a miracle. It is so wonderful to see and believe that sometimes they do happen. He never should have made it out alive!! God bless you all.
