Your family may choose to hold monthly rituals on each of the full moons. For those who do, here are some suggestions for these Lunar Festivals.


January
Names for the January full moon: Wolf Moon, Quiet Moon, Snow Moon, Cold Moon, Chaste Moon, Disting Moon, and Moon of Little Winter.
The colors associated with the January moon are white, blue-violet and black.
The corresponding stones are garnet, onyx, jet and chrysoprase. Herbs used in this full moon ritual should include marjoram, holy thistle, nuts and cones. Spells done at this time should be geared toward new beginnings.


February
Names for the February Full Moon: Ice Moon, Storm Moon, Horning Moon, Hunger Moon, Wild Moon, Quickening Moon, Solmonath Moon, and Big Winter Moon.
The colors associated with the February moon are light blue and violet. The corresponding stones are amethyst, jasper and rock crystal. Herbs used in this full moon ritual should include Balm of Gilead, hyssop, myrrh and sage. Spells done at this time should be geared toward facing life’s challenges, purifications, dedications or rededications.


March
Names for the March Full Moon: Storm Moon, Seed Moon, Moon of Winds, Plow Moon, Worm Moon, Lenting Moon, Sap Moon, Crow Moon, and Moon of the Snowbird.
The colors associated with the March moon are green and violet. The corresponding stones are aquamarine and bloodstone. Irish Moss should be included in this full moon ritual. Spells done at this time should center around success and hope.


April
Names for the April Full Moons: Growing Moon, Hare Moon, Seed Moon, Planting Moon, Planter’s Moon, Budding Moon, Easter Monath Moon, Eostre Moon, Ostar Monath Moon, Pink Moon, and Green Grass Moon.
The colors for the April moon are red and gold, with rubies and garnets as the corresponding stones. Herbs used at this ritual should include basil, chives, dragon’s blood, geranium and thistle. Spells performed should deal with preparing and planting your garden.
