The first thing that drew me to the company's Web site was a great sale. There were a handful of colors on sale for $1, while many of the regular prices were about $5.50. I couldn't pass up the chance to try this polish at a discounted rate.
The appeal of the colors are that company founder, Carolyn Cianciotta, also known as a manicurist to the stars, personalizes each nail polish description with a description of her experiences growing up and living in New York City. You feel as though you're experiencing a piece of her life with her.
There are about 55 colors in the collection that come in .5 fl. oz. bottles. The three Carolyn New York colors I ordered were:
125th Street History: It's a frosty pink color that went on in a thick coat. It's a pastel color and very pretty to look at. It'll bring out your girly side.
Tribecca Spirit: This shade is a purple frost that's rich in color. I felt regal wearing this color.
Spanish Harlem: For a change of pace I chose this deep chocolate brown color that complemented my warm skin tone. If you have a warm skin tone, you'll want to try this polish.
As far as customer service I received my three nail polish colors a few days after I placed my order. The shipping was a couple dollars and my package came via DHL. I was pleasantly surprised that the company also included in my package a 1.1 fl. oz. lavender cuticle oil. The oil smells wonderful and works well.
At first I thought the polish was going to be cheap because of the sale price. I was wrong though when I went to do my first manicure with one of the colors. Each of the colors lasted a few days because I used a quality base coat and top coat. Another thing I like about the bottles is the rubber tops that make the bottle easy to open. The small square bottles are also cute to look at.
Overall I'm pleased with the Carolyn New York colors, wearability of the polish as well as the customer service I received. The free bottle of lavender was also a nice surprise.
