I did some research of my own and listed a few toys here that are good for babies that are under 12 months old and that you can buy for under 10.00. From my own experience from being a mother of five children, you can still never go wrong with a soft book or rattle for little ones so always remember that. Babies love noise makers, but the parents wont always thank you for those LOL. Just please remember when buying toys for a baby to really look to see how it's put together. If any pieces are able to come off, most likely the baby will choke since they put everything in their mouth. Toys from dollar stores are really cheap but not always made the right way so just be sure to really look at what you are buying for a baby. Now here is my little list of recommendations. Enjoy!

Sesame Street: Baby Purse

This one goes for 9.99 at Toys R Us. You would not want to give this to a child under 12 months. The purse includes a lipstick, cellular phone, key chain, coin purse and a heart shaped comb with a handle. You can't go wrong with Sesame Street characters. This one is definitely for your little girl. I went on price grabber and could not find this toy anywhere else on the site. The purses do sell on Amazon but for about five dollars more. There were around two available on Ebay for under 3.00 not including shipping and those were used.

Lamaze: Grip & Grab Rattle - Phase 2
This one goes for 9.34 at Toys R Us. It is good for ages 3-18 mths. Both boys and girls will love this one since its chopped full of colors and cool sounds. If your baby can hold objects with two hands they will probably love this.

Baby's First Blocks
In my opinion every baby should have this toy. Since I was little (and I am 36 now) these have been a big baby pleaser. The age on this one is 6mths-3 years. Toys R Us has this available for 9.99 with free standard shipping.
