No offense to you Kansas fans. Your team played an awesome game. It was the best game I've seen.....probably ever. UM was up. KU was up. We were tied. Back and forth for the longest time. One of our teams might be up for a few minutes, but it could change at the drop of a hat.

My fiancee had to work through most of it. I could only describe it to him as "really close" and "nerve- racking".

I have other opinions, which you may disagree with, but they are really nothing against you or your team.

Look, not just this game, or just this year, but apparently the NCAA refs do not like Memphis. I'm not saying this only because we lost this game. In the past several games this season (which we won) there have also been frequent instances of getting fouled when we shouldn't have been, as well as the opposing team fouling us but not getting the call. This has also happened for many years.

Is this supposed to be some kind of racial issue? Or class? Because I only hear the announcers on TV making fun of southerners. I will admit that I am a white woman, but this crap people say about our team is wrong no matter who you are; black, white, male female, anyone...that is why we are MEMPHIS!!! That is what makes us so strong when it comes to team (or school) loyalty...it doesn't matter who you are. That is what I love most about my school. I'm a poor white female with all the opportunities as anyone else. I'm no better or worse than anyone else at my school, except when it comes to performance.

I've recently heard some basketball fans try to use the recent Martin Luther King, Jr. anniversary as a reason to demand more white players in basketball.
I don't think they understand the dream.
It isn't about 50/50 equality in everything, but the right to have the chance. Well, guess what? At least here in Memphis(in the South), so far our talent seems to lie within the African-American community. Does that mean it will always be so? No. Is that where the best players are right now? Yes! (but that is a totally different story!)

Did You Know?
The Memphis Tigers were the first team in college basketball history to win 38 games in one season. At the time they reached the NCAA tournament, they also had the best game stats in the nation.
