The Rock may have been one of World Wrestling Entertainment's greatest wrestlers and during his time in the WWE he helped prove this in many classic matches at the Summerslam pay per view. Summerslam is the second biggest pay per view of the year for the WWE, and the Rock has impressed audiences many times with his performances at the event. Summerslam 1998: The Rock's first Summerslam match would eventually culminate into one of the greatest WWE ladder matches and part of his now classic feud with WWE Superstar Triple H. These two battled for nearly an half-hour for the Intercontinental gold and just when it looked like the Rock was going to get the victory, Chyna delivered a low blow, allowing Triple H to take advantage and claim the Intercontinental championship.
Summerslam 1999: While Triple H, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Mankind were fighting it out for the WWE Title in the main event, the Rock was stuck fighting Billy Gunn, also known as Mr. Ass, in a Kiss My Ass match. If the Rock lost he would have to kiss Billy Gunn's behind. The Rock did not let that happen though as he dominated the match and secured his first Summerslam victory.
Summerslam 2000: The Rock was finally in the Summerslam main event and he would be defending his WWE title in a Triple threat match against both Triple H and Kurt Angle. Angle seemed like he was out of this match early, but that was not the case as he returned later to mix up things with the other two wrestlers. This was a very impressive match that even made the Best of the World Championship DVD and ended when the Rock connected the People's Elbow on Triple H and kept his title.
Summerslam 2001: By 2001, the WCW and ECW had invaded the WWE and were known as the alliance. The Rock was gone making the Scorpion King, but when he made his return shortly before Summerslam, he immediately sided with the WWE. He began a feud with Booker T and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship was on the line as they headed into Summerslam. These two put on a great match, but the Rock was going strong and finished Booker T off with his second Summerslam main event win in a row.
