 open and covered picnic areas. The Godfrey community along with charitable organizations hosts a variety of exciting events over the spring, summer and fall months that are enjoyed by young and old alike.

Starting off the warm, 2008 season is the Gateway MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society annual awareness walk on April 20. This walk, which benefits those stricken with MS, begins at 1:00 p.m. with check-in time starting at 12:00 p.m. The entire family will enjoy a day of fun, food and festivities.

Join in the festivities of the Annual Arbor Day Celebration on April 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There will be many activities for children including a fishing derby, tree climbing, environmental crafts, and much more. Tree seedlings will be available and a demonstration of tree climbing will be give by expert climbers. A Tree Memorial Program will also be included. This event is free to all.

July 12, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Glazebrook Park will be the site for Family Fun Day. This event boasts a nostalgic and modern day theme in which some of the activities are related to days-gone-by and the here-and-now. There will be events such as three-legged races, sack races, and water balloon tosses, along with rock wall climbing, and Godfrey's own idol contest, just to name a few. All events are free.
