Top 8 Rankings for Remaining American Idol Contestants
Who Should Stay and Who Should Go Home
Tonight, the American Idol contestants will do their best to shine just for you and the rest of America. Having watched since the beginning, dedicated fans everywhere will be ranking the singers in order of their favorites to who should have to go. And this is my ranking.Starting at the bottom of my favorites list is Jason Castro. He has just not appealed to me from the very beginning. He looks too sweet to sing anything hard or painful. Kristy Lee Cook: Although she is your gorgeous country girl all the way, she just doesn't seem to connect very well with the audience. There is too much acting in her singing and falsehood in her stage presence. I don't think she has shown her true self yet, but she'll need to if she wants to beat out the other contestants on the show from this week until the end of the competition.
Syesha Mercado just plays to the camera too much and her amazing range and tone will not make up for that. She is the same thing we've heard and seen before. It almost seems as if she is showing off. Just like Kristy Lee, Syesha has not shown her true self through her singing yet and will also need to if she plans on staying in this competition.
Michael Johns: His voice is okay, but not incredible, mind-blowing or anything else like that. He reminds me of every band out there that plays the same sound over and over. But, he does sound awesome when he is singing a song he really loves. Like the judges say a lot: song choice, song choice, song choice!
David Archuleta easily connects with any song he believes in. When he's not connected though, the audience gets bored and left out. He would be an amazing inspirational singer. I don't think he will win the competition or even make it to the finals, but I hope to hear him do something that reaches out and helps people.
