If you could be like an angel, with real angel wings, would you do it? Imagine the delicate white feathers, upon your shoulders, flying away to help the needy and save those in trouble. That is a wonderful fantasy to be able to do that here on earth, but is it really possible?

Now, it is possible to have wings like an angel, but it will only be a cosmetic set of wings.

Samuel Poore, a reconstructive surgeon at the University of Wisconsin in Madison has given us the details of the cosmetic steps needed to transform the human anatomy to adapt wings.

Poore has been interested in hand surgery before he went to medical school. When he was told that bird anatomy could not be applied to human anatomy, he set foot to find out more.

Evolution gave birds the muscles trained and needed for wings. Humans could not handle the wings on their shoulders like birds do. Today's birds have the wing requirement of only a square centimeter for each 4 grams of the bird's weight. Humans need two square meters of loading space for the wings. That is impossible. However, through a cosmetic procedure, it is possible to convert an arm into a wing. The process is extensive and very tricky, and Poore says it's more trouble than it's worth.

This cosmetic surgery may be occurring in the underground world of body modifiers, those that do plastic surgery of implanting horns and other extreme grotesque procedures.

This angel wings cosmetic procedure is like a metaphor in our own lives. It is a hard and extensive cosmetic procedure to transform our bodies to look like an angel, just like it is hard for us to earn our angel wings. We go through hard times, temptation, sin, and other failures during our journey in life. Sometimes it may seem like it is more trouble than it's worth. However, this is not the case, and there is a difference between the extensive work of angel wings cosmetic procedure and the extensive work earning our real wings one day. It is worth the trials we go through, doing the best we can no matter how low we feel or how low life may seem. It will pay off one day to go through the troubles and trials to earn our wings.

Takeaways
  • Humans can't aquire the requirements for angel wings on the shoulders

Did You Know?
Evolution has given birds the muscles needed to support wings. Human anatomy and bird anatomy do not mix.

I heard that Micheal Jackson will make a comeback, and sport his new wings while on tour.

I remember a similar article I read once about a guy trying to do things like give people other mammalian characteristics, like wolf-like ears or tails. Seems a bit Frankensteinish to me, but I've also known people with particularly animalistic personalities who honestly feel incomplete without a tail, so I could see where surgeries like this could benefit them.
