Father's Day crafts are great things for kids to make to show how much they love Dad on Father's Day. Sure, they can buy something in a store, wrap it up nicely and give that to Dad for Father's Day. But, a gift made with love by their son or daughter is usually much more appreciated and loved by Dad. Here are a few Father's Day crafts that I've made with the kids I used to teach and, yes, Dad loved them.

Dad's Own Photograph Album

This is a very easy to make Father's Day craft for younger children and it's a gift Dad will treasure for years to come.

Materials - blank book, glue, photographs, colored pencils or crayons, decorative items like glitter, stars, and stickers - at any craft shop or stationary store.

Buy a blank book at any stationary or craft shop. There are some really cool books around with footballs, cars, bikes, places to visit etc. on the cover.

1. Have your child collect all the photos he or she can find of him/her with Dad.

2. Let him/her stick the photos in the 'album' using glue (glue sticks are better for younger children).

3. When all the photos are in the 'album', your child can write funny captions for each photograph (have an adult help if writing is still difficult for your child).

4. Your child can decorate every page, with glitter, stars, stickers, little drawings, anything they want to add.

5. Make a label to stick on the front cover of the book that says "Dad's Photograph Album", and you have a cool, unusual Father's Day gift for Dad.Dad's Personalized Bookmarks

This one is the easiest of the Father's Day crafts I've made. It only takes a few minutes yet, if Dad is a reader, is a Father's Day craft that Dad can use and enjoy.

Materials - stiff cardboard, colored pencils, pieces of ribbon, glue, glitter, stars, stickers, photos etc. - at any craft shop or stationary store.

Susan, that's so sad. So sorry about your Dad. Momma J. someone I know did that with her aunt and her aunt remembered her from old photos when she couldn't remember her in person.

Susan sorry to hear about your dad that is a shame. If you want to bring a smile to his face and he's not too far into the alzheimer's give him an old picture of you. Maybe something with you and him in it. We did this for our Aunt because looking at us now she didn't know us but we gave her pictures and she perked up telling us all about the people in the picture. It's such a shame to experience so much life and then not be able to remember it. Great article. Really cute ideas.
