Get the Scoop on Zack & Cody's Spin-off The Suite Life on Deck

Fans of one of Disney Channel's most popular original series, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, will be happy to hear that The Suite Life is coming back with a new name and new look! Disney Channel execs have decided to create a spin-off from The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and they're sending a handful of its original characters off on a cruise ship and calling it The Suite Life on Deck.

Not all the original Suite Life cast members will continue on with The Suite Life on Deck. Dylan and Cole Sprouse, the twins who play Zack and Cody on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, will both be returning. Brenda Song, who plays the hotel heiress London Tipton and Mr. Moseby played by Phill Lewis will both be returning for The Suite Life on Deck as well.

Zack and Cody's mom, played by Carey Martin and Maddie Fitzpatrick, played by the rising star Ashely Tisdale will not be regulars on the new show; however they may be back for special appearances at some point.

Changing the setting of the show from the Tipton Hotel to the SS Tipton (owned by London Tipton's father) was a way for the Disney Channel to continue The Suite Life without boring its restless viewers. Being aboard the SS Tipton will no doubt give The Suite Life's producers and writers a chance to create fresh, new storylines while still keeping the charming Sprouse twins in a Suite Life setting.

The premise of the new show, The Suite Life on Deck, is that London Tipton, Zack and Cody embark on a Semester at Sea aboard the SS Tipton. The three teens attend school on Deck Eight and in true Suite Life fashion get into a lot of their usual mischief. Fortunately, Mr. Moseby is there to keep things from getting too out of hand and report back to the parents.

The Suite Life of Zack & Cody is the third longest-running Disney Channel original series to air on the Disney Channel, right behind That's So Raven and Kim Possible. The Suite Life has filmed three seasons for a total of 88 episodes.

The Disney Channel has not yet announced when The Suite Life on Deck will premiere on the Disney Channel. They began casting for the new show in February and are currently filming the new episodes of The Suite Life on Deck.
