Many people’s favorite time of the year begins when the autumn leaves start changing colors (if you’re lucky enough to live in that part of the country) and there’s a crispness to the air. Vibrant red's, yellows, orange’s, it is a sight that shouldn’t be missed. The holiday season is about to begin. Our first stop and only stop on this particular journey ends on October, 31, Halloween.

For those of us fortunate enough to be over 30, in my case, 40 (good grief!) I distinctly remember a time when all the kids, including myself in younger years, looked forward to Halloween. It was a blast for lack of a better word. We all got to get dressed up in funny, scary, and imaginative costumes, went ‘Trick or treating,’ and ate so much candy we got physically sick. Ah, the good old days. That all seemed to change a few years ago.

Takeaways
  • Society changes have changed the way kids celebrate the holiday
  • Charlie Brown isn't the only one who may get 'a rock' in their candy bag this year
Did You Know?
Halloween is the second biggest spending holiday of the year. Second only to Christmas
