Last night 'Secret Talents of the Stars' premiered. I wasn't going to watch it at first but figured I'd give it a shot since they were promoting it so much during Big Brother. It seems like an interesting concept but still kind of ridiculous if you ask me. Celebrity shows haven't done too well on CBS so I was shocked they'd even try another one. What the show is all about is taking 'well known' celebrities and having them perform something out of the norm. This means boxers are rapping, dancers are singing and singers are dancing. One of the most interesting things I saw from the show was just how nervous host John O'Hurley seemed. The show was live so obviously things can go wrong and obviously he wasn't ready. He seemed fine vocally and probably could have pulled it off if it wasn't for his terribly shaking hands. It almost seemed like he was about to drop the mic several times and I couldn't take my eyes off of just how nervous he seemed and his hands wouldn't stop shaking! The judges are somewhat whacked out as well. Most crazy was Debbie Reynolds who apparently is a famous actor yet I have no clue who she is. She had several good jokes that you would never see coming from her and like O'Hurley said, almost turned the show into Pay Per View.
First up to perform her 'hidden talent' was Sasha Cohen. She's an American ice skater whose hidden talent is contortionism. You know, bending your body into crazy ways they were never meant to be. Her performance was pretty good as she performed with 'backup contortionists'. You could hardly tell the difference from her and her backups when they did group stunts. The only problem she had was falling off of her three person pyramid towards the end of her act. She was nervous pre-show about toppling the tower and she succeeded in doing so.
