After the recent success of Jack Thompson and other advocates forcing an "Adults Only" rating on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas due to a highly controversial "Hot Coffee" modification, Jack Thompson has decided to set his cross hairs on a new title, The Sims 2 from Electronic Arts. Jack Thompson is attempting to get EA to pull The Sims 2 off store shelves due to what he believes is even worse than the "Hot Coffee" mod for GTA: San Andreas.

While EA has gone to great lengths to insure that The Sims 2 is safe for teenagers to play, including "blurring out" the nudity on naked Sims and by choosing to not show alcohol and similar items in its recent University expansion, Jack Thompson insists that EA is "cooperating, gleefully, with the mod community to turn Sims 2 into a porn offering." This attack is the result of mods which can be readily downloaded from various websites which will remove the blurring on nude Sims.

EA's has countered this recent controversy by saying, "This is nonsense. We've reviewed 100 percent of the content. There is no content inappropriate for a teen audience. Players never see a nude sim. If someone with an extreme amount of expertise and time were to remove the pixels, they would see that the sims have no genitals. They appear like Ken and Barbie." Indeed, once the blurring has been removed, all that can be found underneath are mannequin like models which contain no unwanted body parts whatsoever.

This, however, is not enough for Jack Thompson who plans on moving further with his case against The Sims 2. In reference to the blurring, he has stated, ""Electronic Arts has done nothing about (the blurring removing modification)."

Takeaways
  • Jack Thompson also was an advocate who fought against Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
  • The Sims 2 is being targeted after the successful
  • EA has stated that their is no nudity whatsoever in The Sims 2
Did You Know?
There is no nudity in The Sims 2, removing the blur only shows a blank, featureless body

IHowever, if you hide us from it, in the future we won't know it. Wouldn't you rather us make these mistakes in video games, than in real life?

II think this Jack Thompson bloke is just one of those people who are afraid that if they show children anything having to do with the real world, they'll turn into 'devil's'. He wants to hide children from the real world, and keep them under the cover so that when something like Sex does happen to them, they don't know how to say NO because they won't know that it's wrong. Sims2 is a nice, family game. Even the downloads are safe for children, but parents should always be careful what they allow the kids to do on the internet because while SIms2 is a fun game, I admit that some of the stuff you can download online is inappropriate. But most of the really bad stuff, you'd have to look for hours to find it. I think parents and people like this guy need to calm down, and trust the kids. Once they do that, they will see that while we make our own mistakes, we're still smart enough to know whats right and whats wrong. However, if you hide us from it, in the future we won't know it. Wouldn'

I honestly don't see what the problem is. GTA is understandable. What with the whoring (having sex gives you more health) and the violence. Still, games like GTA are what keep people from freaking out on the real world. They can take aggression out on the people in the video game rather than the people in real life. Its what I use to release steam. However, Sims2 is a nice safe game that can be played by anyone. Even when you use the many non-censored cheats, the Sims don't take off they're pants when going to the bathroom, they don't have any real sexual organs (except for boobs.). When the Sims "wahoo" (have sex) It's hidden with music and they do it fully under the cover. Even when they do it in the hot tubs, it's under water where the viewer can't watch the sexual activity. If anything, Sim2 is a great game for Health class that teaches how to take care of a family, and how to not screw up your life. It isn't anything close to real life, but it would give a student an idea. I think

Jack thompson is a f*cking idiot who doesn't realize that his brain is full of s*it. There is no nudity! If anyone downloaded a nude patch a naked sim would look like a barbie doll with no clothes so if he wants to ban the sims 2 than he'll have to ban barbie dolls. DO MORE RESEARCH YOU BASTARD!

Gta san andreas is a fine game. If a parent lets a non mature mind play it then its the parents fault. like it or not how many killings will Jack Thompson see on his tv during his life time? The media has plenty of violence and flaws, and I don't think Jack Thompson should start by trying to eliminate/ cause problems with "the sims" community or gta even. Jack Thompson needs to stop child porn and twisted shit fetish videos. P.S. JACK..YOUR NOT MAKING A NAME FOR YOURSELF LOOK AT ALL THE STUPID BANNERS ON THIS SITE.ITS NOT LIKE PEOPLE CARE ABOUT YOU. ITS NOT LIKE...OH HEY I'M GUNNA SEARCH GOOGLE FOR THAT Jack Thompson SITE WHERE HE DOESN'T LIKE THE SIMS WHO ARE NAKED. YOU KNOW WHATS IRONIC IS THE FACT YOUR JUST LIKE THE SIMS WITH NO PIXELS BECAUSE BOTH YOU AND THEM HAVE NO BALLS.

i doubt any of the smaller kids who play this game know how to download custom content anyway. but the custom content really is great. weather it be nudity patches or new furniture all it does is make the game more realistic and fun to play.

Jack Thompson targeted GTA: San Andreas for one reason and one reason only. It was the most popular game at the time and the main character was...*gasp* What!? huh? you guessed it...BLACK! :| I haven't heard much about Jack Thompson since then but as we know The Sims 2 is still rated Teen. That man was just looking for a political horse to ride which would cause him to be on everyone's mind. Sims 2 players is a large community and I'm glad that he didn't succeed in getting the rating changed. EA Games should not be held responsible for what others decide to create for the game. Mods are just that...modifications of the game and if it was EA Games' intent to show nudity I'm pretty sure sims wouldn't look like Barbie or Ken dolls underneath :|

Bloody. F**king. Moron. Yeah, let's just go around censoring EVERYTHING that might offend every pedantic twat on the planet. Then what will we be left with? NOTHING. People like this Jack Thompson are screwing up the world for everyone who isn't such a freak by pushing all this political correctness s**t onwards. My dearest wishes are that he reads this: I HATE YOU.

company should not be held responsable for what the public does to its products. If I bought a legal gun, converted it to a machine gun and went on a rampage would the gunsmith get charged? I don't think so. I think Jack Thompson and others like him should quit being petty and channel their efforts into something useful like helping the homeless and underprivlaged, and cleaning up the big industries that are poisoning our planet. As for GTA:San Andreas it would have made more sense to target it's violent content, you don't need a patch to kill hundreds of people. Is this the message we want to send to our kids? Its ok to swear, carry guns in the street and desroy property and lives, but its bad to care for a person and create a life?

It sounds like this Jack Thompson bloke is trying to make a name for himself by annoying as many people as possible. My 4 year old son plays The Sims 2 and I don't see a problem. He's learning a lot about looking after a family, and money, and that it takes 2 loving adults to have a baby (although he doesn't know exactly how). I downloaded some adult content like the censor patch, realistic skins, and brothel objects which gave us a good laugh, I've since removed them as there are limits to what a kid should see. I can see nothing in the base game that could possibly offend anyone. If they ban games because of what kids (might) download then they should ban dolls with removeable clothes, adult books & video because kids could find dads stash, and movies/tv shows with any sexual content and violence, just look at some of the cartoons these days! A nude hack could be made for just about any kids game, it's just graphics, so should all games be banned? I don't think a games com
