As a patient who took zyprexa for 4 years starting in 1996 when it was FDA approved for sale.I know first hand the agony of taking a drug that cost $250.00 per months refill. It was ineffective for my condition and did not help me.Still I kept taking the drug for 4 years at my doctor's direction.

Later on i was shocked to have a blood sugar level of 500 in year 2000 my diabetes had sudden onset, with no family history.

Eli Lilly still refuses to acknowlege, responsibility for failing to warn patients of the risk.A recent $700 million settlement suit has been stonewalled by ongoing litigation.Victims still await payout while the fund earns interest in an escrow account.

Where's our money?

Not only are we still waiting but if we were on Medicaid or Medicare, each state is taking a lien from our settlement for their expenses for caring for our condition caused by this terrible drug, starting at ten per cent. This is unheard of double jeopardy. If we were on Medicaid, we probably already had a mental illness. Then the drug gave us diabetes. And now we have to pay for our medical care caused by what the Zyprexa did - causing diabetes. Is there no justice?
