There are many things that the husband must consider and alter in his lifestyle when he and his wife are planning on conceiving.  Along with eating a balanced, healthy diet, not partying (drinking, smoking, etc), and knowing your family medical history, there are things that men must consider when they are trying to conceive with their wives.

One thing that a husband needs to do when he and his wife are planning on conceiving is to check with your doctor.  Yes, you and your wife both will need to visit the doctor to see what you may be doing or not doing that could positively or negatively affect conception, pregnancy, and the health of your baby.  Certain drugs (including any steroid or hormone, one class of drugs for high blood pressure, a few antibiotics, and some medications used to treat diseases like fungal infections, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, peptic ulcers, and seizures) can affect either the quality or quantity of sperm and cause male fertility problems.  You will want to talk to your doctor about your medication options.  Anabolic Steroids and St. John’s wort and other herbal supplements can directly affect sperm count.  You will also want to talk to your doctor about any medical hazards that you may experience at work that could directly affect you or your future children.

A danger affecting your sperm and your unborn children could be the hazards that you come into contact with in the workplace.  Exposure to chemicals such as organic solvents, which are often found in dry cleaning and auto shops and pesticides on a regular basis, can make it more difficult to conceive. These chemicals can also alter sperm composition, leading to birth defects and premature delivery. Because it takes three months for sperm to develop and fully mature, cut your exposure to these chemicals at least three months before you and your partner start trying.

I see that men shouldn't wear briefs, what about boxer briefs? Should they change to wearing boxers instead also?

Why does the article assume that as the husband you are also "the leader of the home and the main provider?" This may be the case in some situations, but not all. Lets be a little more open minded
