Crocodiles, kangaroos, colorful birds, and koalas have intrigued people all over the world and inspired them to visit Australia. In this guide I will be featuring some main attractions that are definitely “must sees” along with the best in dining and hotel accommodations that Australia has to offer.

Guide to Visiting Australia: Places of Interest
For the best in night life, Sydney, Australia has it all. If you take a boat out at night on a moonlit ride the lights from Sydney Harbor it can be just spectacular. Sydney Harbor was really named Port Jackson. Once nestled into your hotel room you can take any one of the harbor tours it will take you past the opera house and the botanic gardens then you’ll head out toward the sandstone promontories. In downtown Sydney, Australia there are quite a few things that you can enjoy.
• Sydney Town Hall
• St. Andrews cathedral
• Strand Arcade
• Queen Victoria building
• State theater
• Tower Centrepoint
• Australian museum
• Museum of Sydney

Darling Harbor is one of the hot tourist destinations in Sydney, Australia. There are trams to get around in to see all the sights.

The Pyrmont Bridge was built in 1902 and on the other side many fascinations await.
• Australian National Maritime Museum: Quite a large “sports” area in this museum
• Harbor side Festival Market place: This area has a multi story food court that can serve all of your needs.’
• Chinese Garden: you can smell the flowers from the orient in this garden as you approach. Chinese teas and cakes are available for your enjoyment.
• IMAX theater

Blue Mountains almost do not look real from a distance. Although they are only 3,000 ft high, these mountains in Australia do make you realize just how small you are.

Jenolan Caves, these limestone caverns are 300 in number along 50 miles of hillside. They are quite unique and seriously interesting to look at. The appearance is almost like wax sculptures and is truly a mystery how it was formed.

My favorite authors came from Australia. E.V.Timms and Colleen McCoullagh (sorry about the spelling). It's a place I'd love to visit some day.
