A Mother's Eyes

You were born the light of my life
Only then I didn't know the strife
The pain growing up would put me through
Like the first day you started school

The first day you went on your own
Your safety to me, unknown
That was the day I wore the floor out
Told your dad it's been losing grout

Then came the day
At a friend's house you'd stay
You're safety I wasn't concerned
The trouble you'd find, my stomach turned
Staying close to the phone all night
Thinking of all the ways your friend, a brat
In my heart I just knew
That friend around, trouble would stew
That night I never closed an eye
Told your dad I couldn't get any shut-eye

The the day came you got your driver's license
From there I lost any and all sense
It wasn't you on the road I said
It was all the other drivers, stupid
Every time you did drive
I waited for the car to arrive
That would tell my child was in an accident
There was nothing they could do, prevent
That day hasn't arrived thankfully
Again told your dad I was fine mentally

Then came the worst day I have yet to experience
The day you left in search of your independence
Incomplete, I lost a part of me inside
My baby gone, never here to reside
In my home you were safe from harm
Walking and pacing in your room all day
Told your dad you forgot your alarm
Looking, he shook his head, walked away

You see my child of mine
You haven't a clue, fine
Of all the things I've been through
Raising, protecting, and worrying for you
Even when the time comes that I move along
My love for you won't die, continue on strong
As I look down upon you from the heavens
Thanking God for my child, with you my blessings

Nothing could ever take away
From raising you all that time
Never more proud than I am today
Knowing I love you to the end of time
Never stopping, to the top it'd climb
From day one, I knew you were mine
A love so pure and strong words cannot define.

Sorry for the Intrusion Mom, but I Have an Issue Here...

Just a Few Motherly Poems

In memory of my Mother To all mothers and all children, sacred the time you have together, live each day together than the day before live closely together that when the day come you have no regrets about anything
