MySpace Fight: Six Girls TagTeam One Girl

Don't Gossip on MySpace! It'll Get You Jumped!

Of course the Lakeland Florida girls weren't stupid enough to jump her at school where she could get away. They took her to their home on March 30. I don't care if the girls fought her one at a time. She was locked in one of the girls' houses with weapons that that girl could've easily pulled out if she fought back. With six girls on one, there was no room for anyone to tire of fighting her. When one got tired, it was almost like the WWE because the next person came right in to fight her. This young girl ended up with a concussion, loss of hearing, questionable vision, and a swollen face. Even sadder, two guys who could've easily stopped the fight between the seven of them were outside on the lookout. However, the saddest part of the whole crime to me is the one girl who shrieked about not hitting a shelf. It's okay to beat the living daylights out of one girl with six to one, but absolutely do not knock over Grandma's knickknacks.

Considering my strong stance on the Jena 6 issue where there were allegedly six to one, I'm sure there will be readers who will wonder why am I taking the side of this one girl who was beat up by six but not Justin Barker being allegedly beat up by six. While I do know what Barker said to finally make the Jena 6 snap, I don't know what this young lady said on MySpace to get these six girls so furious. But even if whatever she said was as vicious as calling someone a nigger, which to my understanding, she did not nor am I saying she did but that's the only word I can think of that is the most vicious word in the English language, was it really necessary for six people to fight one person, videotape it, and have lookouts? And for a half hour with no help? And lock her in the house where she wouldn't even fight back? And knock her into unconsciousness, wait for her to recover, and fight her again just to post the fight on MySpace?

That bypasses gang fights. At least in gang fights, the opposing gang has the opportunity to run or seek help. Where was this girl supposed to go? From one room to the next and bump into one of the five cameras? You can hear her saying she just wants to talk about it. You can hear her saying that she doesn't want to fight. But these girls just kept on punching, kicking, and slapping her. I have no sympathy for them, and for them to joke about it after being arrested is even worse. The only way that they'll realize how wrong they are is to be put in a place with people who also have the same kind of brutish rationale for dealing with conflict. Put them in juvi, and put the mother who thinks the fight wasn't that bad in an adult prison for doing a pisspoor job of raising her child.
