Wedding Planning Checklist

Here is an easy to follow checklist for planning your wedding. Use it as a guideline to inspire you, and to keep you focused. Add your own personality to your checklist. Print it out and check off the items as you accomplish them.

LEGAL ITEMS:

Marriage License
Change Will
Change beneficiary for life insurance and any financial papers
Name Change

CLOTHING ITEMS:

Select a Wedding Gown
Pick out your honeymoon clothing
Select Brides Maids and Maid of Honor Dresses
Select Groom’s Tux, and all the guys’ tuxes in the wedding party

CEREMONY AND RECEPTION:

Select the location for the ceremony and the reception
Verify the address of the reception hall
Select the rings
Pick who will be in your Wedding Party (brides maids/maid of honor etc.)
Choose who will be your officiate (who will marry you)
Create your guest list
Select your invitations
Fill out and mail your invitations
Chose your caterer
Pick: cake, beverages, party favors
Flower selection for ceremony and reception and wedding attendants and bride
Select music for ceremony and reception
Select or write Vows
Pick a photographer
Decide on transportation for bride and groom getting to and leaving ceremony and reception
Decide on transportation for wedding attendants and any out of town guests without cars.

Purchase Thank You Notes
Bridal Shower
Bachelorette Party
Bachelor Party
Purchase Gifts for attendants
Decide where you will live and make any address changes (post office, at work, on financial forms)
Make arrangements for pets/mail/plants etc for while you are away on your honeymoon

GUESTS:

Coordinate Transportation for out of town guests
Arrange for hotel rooms
Put together seating arrangements

POST CEREMONY:

Send out Wedding Announcements to Newspapers
Write and Mail out Thank You Notes
