The Biggest Loser Couples-Season Finale

Who Wins by Losing Big?

The Biggest Loser Couples Season has proved to be a different spin on the challenge of losing weight because it began as teams of couples, yet still sifted down to individual competition.

When I began watching this latest season of The Biggest Loser Couples it didn't take long to realize that for some, the biggest challenge was going to be working together as a team with the person you arrived on campus with. At times it seemed the greatest hindrance to anyone focusing on becoming the Biggest Loser this season would be the very individual you expected to work with you. Yet it was hard to tell if the 'couples' were there to support or hinder.
As is true in real life, often the support/sabotage was one and the same often occurring back to back. Just about the time the teams of couples did begin to all pull together, the twist came to send individuals home that were voted off rather than couples. Later another twist as Mark and Ali were allowed back after being sent home.

Perhaps the rational behind all these seemingly contradictory plot twists this season was to highlight the twists and turns life throws at us as we decide to get a plan of action and pursue our own journey to becoming The Biggest Loser? Several months ago I shared the beginning of my journey as I questioned if the diet/exercise program on the show could be duplicated by someone without benefit of the 24/7 focus and support of the trainers and campus facilities. I chose to come from the view that the Biggest Loser: Hope or Hype did offer a basis for anyone wanting to invest the time and effort to improve their own fitness levels.
