Artist came out in groups to perform hits from the honorees past. Fabolous, Diddy and Q-Tip stormed the stage wearing Adidas track outfits, while performing a Beastie Boys hit. The Beastie Boys then came out to perform , "Watcha Want" and then went on to rap over the, “Breathe,” beat used by Fabolous on his last album. The Beastie Boys seemed to be a little rusty and looked a little lost on stage. The two trios then all came on stage to exchange handshakes and hugs.

Next was a really nice tribute for MC Lyte. Lil Kim, Remy Martin, Da Brat and YoYo came out to show some love for one of the first successful female rappers. They performed MC Lyte songs and then MC Lyte came out to perform, "Paper Thin." MC Lyte was looking very good, she has aged nicely. This was a great performance that you should definitely look for when watching the show on TV.
