There I was, twelve years old and weighing over 200 pounds. I was a wreck, my self-confidence was down the drain, and my entire outlook on life was bleak. When you are at such a young age and are having to go through the experience of having so much extra weight on your body, it not only drains your physically or emotionally. I had to do something in order to gain my life back, or what life I had at twelve years old.

I had tried literally every diet on the market. Sugar Busters, Dr. Atkins, etc. However, none of them seemed to work. My doctor said that it was because I was so young my body didn't want to respond to the diets. However, I knew that my body also didn't want to have over 100 extra pounds resting on top of it. It wasn't until one day that my history teacher came into the classroom and told me about this diet. It was developed by the American Heart Association for cardiac patients who were needing to loose actual body fat, not water weight, before surgery.

So what is this diet? Well, it is simply called The Three-Day Diet. I know, it doesn't sound that impressive, but don't always judge something's merit by its name. During the process of the diet, you will loose 10 pounds of actual body fat. But how? Well, it happens through a chemical reaction due to the type of foods that you are eating. When you are on this diet, you absolutely know that you are dieting, however, after the first day you can absolutely tell that it is working.

In only four months I lost over 90 pounds by doing this diet. Below is the recipe and grocery list, as well the directions. Absolutely follow the plan, and you will loose 10 pounds of actual body fat!

1st Day:

BREAKFAST:
Black Coffee or Tea
½ Grapefruit
1 slice of toast
2 tablespoons of peanut butter

LUNCH:
½ cup of Tuna
1 slice of toast

DINNER:
2 slices of any mean (about 3 oz.) - I ate two hot dogs.
1 Cup of String Beans
1 Cup of Beets
1 Small Apple
1 Cup of Vanilla Ice Cream

2nd Day:

BREAKFAST:
1 Egg
½ of a Banana
1 Slice of Toast
Black Coffee or Tea

LUNCH:
1 Cup of Tuna or Cottage Cheese
5 Saltine Crackers

Takeaways
  • Remember no Seasonings
  • You can use salt and pepper to season food
  • You will loose ten pounds of actual body fat
Did You Know?
This diet works due to a chemical reaction of the foods within your body.

do you have to follow exactly, or can you leave some things out, but not add more?

I started this diet last week, and am on my second week starting today. I lost 6.5 lbs last week, and didn't gain anything back on my four days off. It wasn't hard to stick too, and I love the results. I have 50lbs more to loose to make it to my goal weight. I work-out everyday and found that I had the energy to keep up my routine. My aunt gave me a copy of this diet. Several of her coworkers are on it and have had amazing results. I've been struggling with my weight for awhile now, and have tried many different things to take the weight off, but have had little results or have gained the weight back, plus some. I like this diet because it's simple and healthy. I'll let you know how I do this week!

I am quite skeptical about this, but I am going to give it a try and hey, if it works I'll do it again. I have about 90-95 pounds to lose to reach a healthy weight, so hopefully I can lose the body fat this way. I am on my first day, I haven't had breakfast yet, and I'm not sure how I'm gonna eat a grapefruit with no sure ! lol

I wanna try this diet so bad because I have a major event coming up [Caribana in about 3 1/2 weeks to be exact] and i seriously can't have bulges anywhere! I'm not overly overweight but the love handles need to go. I tried the cabbage soup and fell off after 5 days. The taste sucked major monkey balls and couldn't stomach it anymore. I've seen minimal result but nothing extravagant. I'm extremely muscular under the fat adn can feel my abs but I'd like to be able to enjoy it and show it off by Aug 2nd. I'm kinda skeptical with this diet but 3 days is nothing so I'll try it. I need to lose about 20 pounds fast so 6-14 days of minimal eating is normal to me as I don't really eat that much anyway. Oh well, I guess 3 days it is!!

I tried this diet many years ago, and ,it really works! The first two days were the hardest for me because, those of us who were not used to depriving our bodies of so little food, in doing this 3 day diet find it somewhat hard to maintain being alittle cranky and short tempered. But it does work . I kept myself busy, and, drunk alot of water in between meals to fill my stomach. GOOD LUCK TO ALL .

I started it on Monday. I have found that for the most part it is plenty of food, especially at dinner time. I was so full from day #2's dinner that I forgot to eat my 1/2 of a banana. I have lost @ 5-6 pounds and am on my third day. Don't know if I'll get to 10 but it is a nice little boost. As for the veggies, I steamed mine just a bit (I don't think it matters if steamed or raw as long as you don't cook the heck out of it). As for the coffee and tea, I add @ 1/2 a pack of equal or splenda but not the whole pack and it's been fine. I was a little hungry between lunch and dinner yesterday but they do say to eat when you're hungry so I just added a few saltines and more water. My own personal recommendation, stay away from any and all soda (diet or not) especially when dieting. It has so much sugar and is sooo bad for you anyway. I'm looking forward to my next round in 6 days and I'll be working out in between this time because I want better results.

You can use Cottage cheese instead of tuna...I did this diet 5 years ago and lost 11lbs. I did although follow it, without cheating. I did not use and seasoning except salt and peper. I am doinging it again and today is my first day. Good luck

I tired this one a couple years ago and even cheated and still managed to drop 7 pounds. A good kickstart to the summer. I even made a nice beef, bean and carrot roast in the oven. However, the one I followed allowed seasoning (including ketchup -- which contains sugar). It's only three days and seems more humane than the Sacret Heart Diet, but honestly, three days on a regime whilst working can be very difficult. However, it's worth it if you need a little boost! Good luck!
