As an ophthalmologist for over 30 years, it has always been obvious to me that people take much better care of their teeth and see a dentist much more frequently than they see their Eye Doctor. The eyes are more valuable than the teeth because you only have two eyes and they cannot be replaced like teeth can. Good dental hygiene is important to your health but good eye care is a must. As humans, we take our health for granted and I am no exception. I have written several articles on eye disease and eye care here at Associated Content and they are among the least read articles that I have published.
I know there are a lot of eye questions that my patients have as well as tons of myths out there that have no basis in fact with regard to the eyes. If you have any questions and you are reading this article, then send me an email and I will address your questions in another article and send you the link. I love to educate my patients when they ask questions and have concerns about their eyes or those of a friend or family member. There are a ton of websites out there devoted to eye care and this resource will just be another outlet if anyone needs some answers or advice.
