The 10 Most Annoying Things About Football

For many sports fans, the summer can be a very long season. Football is still a few months away and basketball has ended. The only sport that remains active is baseball. With America's pastime failing to generate anywhere near the popularity of football, many fans have nothing to do but wait for football season. To help fight those feelings, here is a list of ten things to not miss about football.1. The BCS. The BCS is also known as the annual migraine headache for football fans. Any system that is as flawed as the BCS should not be trusted to select two teams to play for a National Championship.
2. Pregame Show Commentators. Is there anything worse than watching a pregame show commentator try to be a comedian? Terry Bradshaw and Lee Corso come to mind. Football fans across the country have to wonder 'How do they get paid to talk about football?'
3. Defensive Backs. It is very hard to stomach a defensive back celebrate a big hit, despite the fact that the pass was still completed for a big gain or seeing a back celebrate an incomplete pass, even though they were beat on the play.
4. Fans in the Stands. It is hard to understand why a team's fans would chant 'overrated' at the opposing team. Isn't that downplaying the big win their team just had? Also, there's nothing like seeing fans at the Arizona vs. Colorado State game flashing the 'we're number 1' sign at the cameras when neither team is even sniffing the top 25.
5. Players Thanking God After a Win. Doesn't God have more important things to worry about than the outcome of a football game?
6. Arm Chair Quarterbacks in the Office. Everybody works with at least one self-proclaimed football expert who is very vocal about their predictions before the games, but seems to forget them the following Monday. Their story changes from 'I knew Chicago would be too much for New York' on Friday to 'New York has such a dominant defense' the following Monday.
7. Drawn Out Replay Reviews. Instant replay is definitely a good thing in football, but the length of time for a review is ridiculous. Nothing can take the excitement out of a game more than a 10 minute delay to review a play, especially if it is an easy call.
