Sushi spots in Chicago range from the traditional to a very modern cuisine. No matter what you are in the mood for Chicago can deliver. Here are my top eight sushi restaurants, each with a different flavor and unique menu or location.

Coast Sushi
2045 N Damen Ave, Chicago, IL
Easily the most popular sushi spot in all of Chicago, Coast Sushi has a lot going for it. The menu is unique, but traditional enough for those that don't like their sushi messed with. The location is great and the atmosphere is even better, Coast Sushi is a favorite date spot for Chicago couples. Finally, the sushi bar is another one of Chicago's great BYOBs and does not have a corkage fee for diners. Average entrée is $15-20.

Sushi Samba Rio
504 N Wells St, Chicago, IL
With a menu that is a little Latin, Sushi Samba serves up a fusion of Japanese and Brazilian cuisine. Think of it as sushi served tapas style with a little kick. The taste and atmosphere is definitely different and that is what makes it so popular with the young and trendy crowd in Chicago. Average entree is $45.

Blu Coral Contemporary Sushi
1265 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL
As far as sushi spots in Chicago go, Blu Coral is one of the most unpretentious. With an excellent menu and even better service, just about every crowd is attracted to the restaurant. The only problem you face is getting a seat on a bust night, but if you can stand the wait I suggest you do because there are very few other spots in Chicago where you will enjoy dinner as much. Entrees average $20.

Sushi Wabi
842 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL
For a very structured menu head to Sushi Wabi, where a colorful but impressive menu of maki and rolls is served up. Sushi Wabi's vocal fans love the straightforward sushi that is paired with the right amount of sweet and sour sides to complement each dish. Entrees average $25

Tank Sushi
4514 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL
Outside of downtown, in Lincoln Park, Tank is another Latin and Japanese fusion restaurant. With its uniquely created menu, Tanks is a hit using new sauces including tamarind and cilantro. The fish has always been fresh and the rolls are always filling. Average entrée is $15-20.

Great review! We have a good Sushi restaurant near our home called Jurin, we go all the time! However, we will have to head to Chicago one night for sushi!
