Brooke White's Turns in Weak Performance on American Idol

Singing "Hero," originally done by Mariah Carey, Brooke White sat at a piano and sported her instrumental talents. But, did it help her performance? Sadly, no. While she has been constant in who she is every week, this week Brooke lost out and gave a weak performance.

She was beautifully dressed, but sounded too much like Mariah, or at least tried too hard to. Mariah coached her earlier in the week, but to no avail. We all still love Brooke ... just not this week. She did her best to show us even more of her vocal range, but ended up being a little pitchy instead. Near the end her voice just got shaky and, as she always wears her heart on her sleeve, showed just how unsure of herself she was tonight.

She has never really been a front runner, but now has new competition to keep in the game if she makes it through to next week. Her competition you ask? None other than Jason Castro. He is the one she needs to contend with in order to keep alive in the American Idol competition.

Overall, Brooke was just not herself and that made the song choice a poor choice for her. We still love Brooke, but she has sadly lost any chance of making it into the final. While she shouldn't be voted off tomorrow night, chances are - looking back at the surprising disappearance of Michael Johns - America will take this one performance and use it against her. Bad choice voters!
