Jason Castro All Smiles at the End of His Performance of I Don't Wanna Cry
Jason Castro once again brought the house down on last night's American Idol! The long locked young man was sitting down and did a completely original version of Mariah Carey's I Don't Wanna Cry and nailed it. Jason Castro is very comfortable singing and
United States of America being before an audience, has a great stage presence and knows how to work the camera. Not only that, but his signing is exemplary.
His rendition of this song was very smooth and he truly made the song his own. He was very into it and the audience could really tell he really felt the song and made his connection. Similar to last week Jason showed the amazing range of his vocal abilities and astounded the listeners! In some parts of the song he sounded to me like a young George Michaels did when performing.
When it came around to judging his performance it started off on shaky ground as Randy stated "I didn't really love it. It was kind of a weird beach luau."
Paula, surprising, responded rather quickly with 'I'd love to be at that luau and listening all night long."
Then much to everyone's amazement, Simon said he agreed with Paula!? Simon then went on to say "It wasn't the best vocal...it was a cool version," and "the guys completely won the night."
Of course, Randy's comments sparked some tensions and there was obvious disagreement among our esteemed judges.
In my opinion, it was a great performance and one my family and the entire listening audience I am sure truly enjoyed. He could definitely be one of the top contenders as time goes on and I look forward to hearing more of his incredible vocals. Great job Jason...keep it going!
