David Archuleta Nails it on American Idol
The young man from Murray, Utah, kicks it again! David Archuleta continues each week to charm audiences with his boyish charm and once he gets on stage...watch out...he transforms into a very serious and great performer! For a 17-year-old, this guy has some
United States of America amazing range to his voice and can really belt it out.
David came out dressed a little "hipper" than usual as he continues to find his look and performing capabilities and sang Mariah Carey's When You Believe. When singing the audience truly "believes" that he is one of the top contenders and has some great things ahead of him.
When the judges started it was apparent that the reviews were going to be outstanding and they were! Randy started with that "He was a little worried about tonight with the guys all singing girls songs." Furthermore, David picked one of the "toughest songs" according to Randy but he quickly stated "You can sing anything - that was the bomb!" Paula followed up with "Mariah was beaming...you made her proud", and then Simon shared "I knew this was the song from the very first line...very, very good...you set the bar tonight."
The judges...the audience...America...and probably the rest of the world have fallen in love with who this young man is! No pretenses or fakeness. No pride or arrogance displayed and he does not take his position and his fans for granted. It would be great to see a lot more young people around the world have the same type of character and attributes as David Archueleta displays. You can rest assured that his parents and family are quite proud of him!
In my opinion, this was definitely not his best performance but he really did a good job. His on stage presence, comfort, connection with the audience, looks and his sincerity all play into the overall package of David Archuleta. If he is not in the last two top contenders I will be quite surprised and shocked! Great Job David!
