Both men and women have to deal with those unsightly stretch marks. It is especially important for women to get rid of their stretch marks after they have given birth. Stretch marks are basically scars that show up on your but, hips, arms, and on your abdomen. They can basically show up anywhere. But is laser surgery really a safe way to get rid of them?

Many doctors and researches feel that laser surgery has proved to be one of the most effective ways to get rid of stretch marks. Of course as with any type of treatment there is no one hundred percent guarantee that it will completely eliminate all of your stretch marks. The purpose of the laser is to help regenerate the amount of collagen that is produced. So the claim is that is can basically erase the stretch marks from your skin. The good thing about this type of treatment is that it is virtually painless, and you do not need to be put to sleep. Most doctors will recommend that you use some type of stretch mark cream, both before and after surgery. The down side to this type of treatment is that it can be pretty expensive. It will depend greatly on how bad, and how many stretch marks you have. This will determine how many treatments you have to have. The cost ranges from about $2000 to $4000 per treatment. This being the case you will definitely want to think long and hard before you decide to go ahead with this type of treatment for your stretch marks.

Takeaways
  • Of course you could always try the stretch mark cream, and hope that they will eventually fade.
  • Your doctor may be able to recommend another form of treatment that will not require you to spend so
  • The purpose of the laser is to help regenerate the amount of collagen that is produced

I'd juss like to give some advice to anyone who is planning to start lifting weights on a regular basis. You need to use cocoa butter or some type of stretch mark prevention cream all along your arms and chest, this goes especially for people with dry skin. Once you begin working out on a regular basis and your muscles start enlarge you may start receive unsightly stretch marks all along the upper part of your arms and chest. I wish somebody could have gave me this advice when i started working out rigorously.

Hi hannah, I can't answer your question, but I would like to say that it is pretty odd for someone at that age to have so many stretch marks on different areas of the body. If she isn't very obese and still has those stretch marks she should be checked for cushing syndrome by an endocrinologist. I had the same problem when I was her age & it turned out I had cushings. Just a suggestion.
