I was visiting a friend and half heartedly looking for an apartment, since I was thinking of moving to a new city. It was a really hot summer that year and I had just gotten back from Louisiana and Mississippi and had the best tan of my life. I pulled up to Julie's on that hot summer day, wearing a black, red, and white skirt with a black top and got out of the car. She greeted me with a hug and a smile and we went into her apartment. She was living with some people that I didn't know very well and some were out of town, so I knew I could stay in one of their rooms. Some of the roommates were on their way back from New York. They had a friend there that was a dancer at Radio City Music Hall and they had gone to visit her. I was only there about an hour when they returned. Julie introduced us and they started to unpack. We decided to go down the street to a pizza joint and get some lunch.

We had plans that night to meet up with a friend for dinner and drinks. We went to the restaurant where a friend worked and had a great feast. When we got home, we were greeted by another roommate. He was very attractive and he was trying to figure out what to wear to a party. I was intrigued by him from the start. He was very nice and he seemed nervous around me, so I knew he was interested. He would be one of my summer love stories. He went to the party and we ended up staying in. I was kind of tired from traveling and didn't feel like doing much.

The next day, Julie and I walked around and were planning to meet her boyfriend and some other friends for drinks. I didn't know the city very well and didn't care where we went. We went to a martini bar and ended up having way too much to drink. It was a great time and it was fun to meet some new people. After the bar, we headed out and danced the night away to Neil Diamond.

I had been talking to the intriguing roommate most of the night and we danced and talked until dawn. I was leaving the next morning, but wasn't sure if my new found crush would hang on until I moved. He was very charismatic and had a good job, a car, and a great place to live. Funny how these are the attributes you look for in a person at the age of 25. I said my goodbye's and hope to see him again when I returned.
