Titanium Wedding Bands
A Guide to the Benefits of This Fascinating Metal
Embed:
Titanium wedding bands have become more popular in the last few years. Traditional metals, like gold or silver, have little advantage over titanium in quality, cost, and durability—if any. They are virtually indestructible. Nevertheless this makes people a little hesitant as few jewelers in each state have the proper tools to be able to cut them off if a problem should occur. But if you don’t work construction or other outdoor jobs that could cause you to injure your fingers, you shouldn’t have any trouble with this metal. So, if you are looking for something out of the ordinary, than you should consider the glory of titanium for your wedding bands.Durability
Hands down this is a very durable metal. Unlike gold, which is a very soft metal, titanium is much harder to scratch and mar the polished surface. This is not the say that it won’t scratch, but that there will be considerably less scratches than the more expensive purchase of a gold wedding band. But the style of ring will make all the difference. If you get a polished surface it can start to show scratches a little easier than if you get a textured surface. But either way, the scratches are much less noticeable than on other metals. This is because titanium is a grayish color that makes scraps less visible on its exterior.
Cost
Even very elaborate titanium rings are under the $200.00 range and mostly stay under the $100.00 range. If you do a search on ebay you can find a variety of titanium ring dealers that will custom make matching wedding band sets in what ever ring size and mm width that you choose. These ring sets range from very inexpensive ($40.00 for a simple designed set) to still inexpensive compared to gold or even silver. Thus, if you lose one of these bands you won’t be grieving for months to come. They are even inexpensive enough to be replaced every few years for an upgraded style if you so desire.
