Boston Baked Beans are candy coated peanuts that have a lot of calories. While I purchased this snack food numerous times, the calorie count was not something that I paid much attention to. At 120 calories, it seems that more fulfilling snack foods are a better buy. Boston Baked Beans are low in fat and saturated fat. The proportions of these fats are at 6% and 3%. This snack food does not have any sodium or cholesterol. It is also low in carbs, fiber and protein. Boston Baked Beans contain a modest amount of sugar. The snack food does not have much nutritional value. It may be safe for men and women to have Boston Baked Beans once or twice during a diet. They are not so unhealthy that you will gain weight so that is not something to worry about.
Quality
The Boston Baked Beans snack food product is distributed by the Ferrara Pan Candy Company. They come in a small 0.95 ounce box that is easy to open and keep closed if you want to save some for later. In all of the times I purchased Boston Baked beans, I rarely came across a stale package. They usually last long, although it is not always easy to find an expiration date on the packages. The chances for getting stale Boston Baked Beans may depend on how the retailer cares for them.
While they are coated with a hard candy shell, it would not be wise to leave them in an environment with high temperatures. During the summer months, Boston Baked Beans can be sticky and messy if you leave them in your pocket, car or even a kitchen closet. If your house does not have air conditioning, it would help to put this snack food in the refrigerator or a cool area. The same goes for the winter months if your heat is turned up high. Although the candy coating is hard, you can still bite through them easily. They soften more once you place them in your mouth.
